SHY is a Glasgow based design studio creating furniture and interior products, engaging interpretations of traditional archetypes. Utilising honourable materials, strong forms and quality craftsmanship to deliver sustainable pieces that inspire long lasting user-object relationships.
Simultaneously, we provide creative services and project management for ambitious clients within the art and design industry.

DESIGN

Our surroundings directly affect our wellbeing, we reflect this with engaging and tactile objects. We take no interest in trends, instead creating works that are material and process led, narrative design that endures. We invite all enquires regarding our work or to discuss commissions.

MADE

SHY pieces are generally made to order, ensuring nothing is ever made which doesn't already have a home. Made in house, we can ensure the craftsmanship and quality necessary for the long life we ask of our items, using carefully selected, natural materials from sustainable sources. Pieces are finally engraved with our mark of authenticity. 

FINISH

We use natural pigments, waxes and oils that allow us to champion the subtlety of the raw materials we are using, these do not harm our environment and are easy to maintain indefinitely. Natural finishes allow the material to breathe well and offer superior protection, without diminishing the delicacy of texture and colour. They allow pieces to age and patina over time, continuing to add new layers of depth to their beauty.Specific directions will be included with each individual product. BOXING

All our standard boxes, fillers and packaging are made using 100% recycled materials. Some products require the use of specialist protection and timber crating for transport, all materials are recyclable. Please reuse or recycle packaging where possible.
